I’m an Indian American mom, occupational therapist, certified kids yoga instructor, wife, and foodie (yelp elite!) – juggling two rich cultures in the biggest city in America. You’ll find me writing about the joys of parenting, my adventures, tips and tricks, rants, recipes, and whatever works for me as a first time mom. Being a pediatric occupational therapist, where I address developmental milestones with children, also plays a great part in my parenting and changes how i play and interact with my baby M. I’m still figuring out the ropes, while trying to raise my child with the understanding and exposure of his indian culture and punjabi roots.
I have been living in the big apple for almost three years, and I know how hard it can be to travel, figure out subways, cook in a kitchen the size of a bathroom stall, deal with rain, order food online, get groceries, and wait in long lines. I also know how it can be to try to create that home life first generation indians grew up in, where you the house is clean, food is on the table, and your mom with her lipstick on and hair did and is flipping perfectly round rotis at the stove…Some days I’m lucky if I even shower…
Throw a baby into the mix and and it sometimes feels and seems impossible!
This is why I created this blog.
I’m here to share what works for me, what fails for me, and hear what others have to share and offer.
